Back Porch Band
WELCOME!
The Back Porch Band began with a few folks who wanted to get together once a week to play the music they enjoyed. Members introduced personal favorites to the others and, pretty soon, the band had formed a large collection of songs. The Back Porch Band got its name from playing in the living rooms and on the back porches of its members. The band has an eclectic taste in music which includes: early rock, folk tunes, early country, gospel, fiddle tunes, bluegrass, modern country, and pop music. As word got out that this fun group was playing music that other people enjoyed also, the group began to receive invitations to play at various local institutions such as senior housing units, the hospital wards, various churches and local art councils. The Back Porch Band accepts donations for their appearances and gives all profits to the local Hospice.
